Scandic Fornebu Hotel, Oslo, Norway, 14th &15th June 2020
We are happy to announce that we are now open for registrations.
The Summit addresses the need for integration of contemplative interventions within the education sector, and is organised in honour of the 30 years anniversary of HH 14th Dalai Lama receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.
It will focus on how mindfulness-based methods, when incorporated within all levels of schools and higher education, may strengthen positive human qualities such as empathy and compassion, and improve mental health and overall well-being.
The Summit is designed for educators, policy makers, researchers, mindfulness practitioners and others with an interest in this field. It is particularly relevant to nursery and school teachers and academic staff who would like to integrate health and life-mastery skills into their teaching. This is a topic which will be introduced as a cross-cutting theme in the new teaching plans in Norway from the autumn of 2020.
The Summit is organised by Dream of the Good (Norway) and CALM (UK), with Mind and Life Europe, Mindfulness Initiative (UK) and Mindfulness Norway as key partners.
Speakers from the US, Europe, Asia and Scandinavia will address implementation in schools, public policy, brain and cognitive research, as well as sustainability in relation to mindfulness-based approaches. The keynote speakers include Dr. Alan Wallace, Prof. Linda Lantieri, Prof. Patricia Jennings, Prof. Katherine Weare, and Prof. Ringu Tulku Rinpoche.
Pupils and students will have an active role through participation on panels and leading workshops and other activities during the Summit.
